So they live in the city where they could also receive medical care – and yet have no way of accessing these services. To ensure that these people have access to basic medical care, we take our Mobile Clinic to where they live.
Four days a week, between Saturday and Thursday, the team travels to various poor districts in Dhaka. The team currently consists of a doctor, a pharmacist, a driver and a person who takes the patients’ data, measures their temperature and weight and coordinates the process. The data is recorded on the “Health Card”, which every patient receives, so that the information is available at the next doctor’s visit. On the second day of the Mobile Clinic, more than 50 patients were already receiving medical care in the Korail slum. The need is therefore enormous.
There are also plans to support the Mobile Clinic team with volunteer doctors from Austria and Europe in the future.
