Access to education is a fundamental right – but for many girls in rural regions of Kenya, attending school remains a daily challenge. Long, often dangerous journeys to school, a lack of infrastructure and family obligations mean that many schoolgirls are unable to complete their schooling. To change this, we have launched a new project: A boarding school for girls at MAA Eroret School in Loodoriak, Kenya.
Until now, many pupils at MAA Eroret School have had to walk several hours a day to attend lessons.
With the new accommodation for over 55 girls, we are creating a safe and supportive place of learning where they can learn undisturbed, develop and prepare for their future.

The school is run by John Kintalel, a Maasai who was one of 13 siblings and the only one allowed to go to school. Together with his wife Esther and a strong team of teachers, he runs the school.
