During her project visit in the fall of 2018, Maria Graf was able to see the construction site in the metropolis of Dhaka for herself. After a lengthy official process, we were finally able to give the go-ahead for the new Training Center Dhaka at the end of the previous year.
Thanks to funds from XXX Lutz’s Red Chairity Foundation, this construction project will make it possible to create practical training opportunities for hundreds of young people from the urban slums with no prospects.
Technical professions, computer training and sewing classes for girls and young women are to take place in the building from fall 2019. Workshops on medical and health-related topics such as hygiene training, family planning and sexual health are also on the agenda.
Our local project partner, Babul Aminul Hoq, comes from the slums himself and knows what people need most. We are looking forward to the completion of the building and when we can start the first training courses in the fall!
