Street music finances school children in India
With songs such as “Hey Jude” and “Lemon Tree”, the five brave girls from the confirmation group from Golling/ Scheffau brightened up the mornings of the walkers in Mirabell Gardens. As you can see from the photos, the performance was enjoyed by large and small audiences, Salzburgers and tourists alike.
The reason for this was to do good or support an organization as part of the confirmation preparation. So Klara, Leonie, Sofia, Lena, Emilie and Johanna decided to support our school projects with the money raised through street music. They themselves were surprised at the almost 380 euros raised. Especially when you consider that with € 5.50 we can send a child in Dhaka to school for a whole month. A big praise and a big thank you to you!
The Grödiger Bauerntheater donates
For many years, the Grödiger Bauerntheather has been committed to social causes, with around 30 volunteer amateur actors donating a considerable sum to social institutions or families in need every year. On May 12th, after a guided tour behind the scenes of the theater stage, 1500 € were handed over to the board of the Austrian Doctors to support projects in India and Bangladesh.
The Austrian Doctors would like to thank chairman Johannes Lindner and all the performers and helpers of the Grödiger Bauerntheater for their great help.
Lecture evening at the Lions Club Anif
The motto of the worldwide Lions movement is “we serve – Lions help”. We can identify with this very well and so we share many common values with the Serivce Club in Anif. In the fall of 2017, we were invited to present our work and global aid projects. In a cozy setting, we had an exciting question and discussion session with Werner Waldmann after the one-hour presentation.
We would like to thank President Ing. Jürgen Sperrer and all his club members for this very nice evening and for the donation of 3000 €.
