Over 100 visitors accepted our invitation to the Haus der Begegnung in Innsbruck on February 6, 2020. An excerpt from Werner Waldmann’s book “Das Glück, helfen zu können” (The Happiness of Being Able to Help) introduced the evening and took the audience back in time to the slums of Calcutta in 1990 and thus to the beginning of our work.
From the slums in Bangladesh to remote mountain villages in the Philippines – the missions of the two Austrian Doctors have a lot in common and are very different at the same time. What is clear is that the happiness of being able to help unites them both. The exciting reports by Dr. Julia Kuen and Dr. Alfred Schernthanner amazed the audience, many sad but some smiling and cheerful moments were part of the lecture.
“When I arrived at the next basketball court, I knew – OK, so this was our next treatment location,” Dr. Julia Kuen.
After a lively round of discussions, we rounded off the evening with pleasant conversations and drinks.
We would like to thank all visitors, helpers and speakers. Special thanks go to the Haus der Begegnung for the premises.
