As part of their diploma thesis entitled “Combating child poverty”, Petra, Marina and Elena, three students at the HBLW Wels, took an in-depth look at the issue of child poverty and strategies to combat it. It was particularly important to them not only to raise awareness with their project, but also to make a meaningful contribution to improving the situation themselves. “We wanted to show that you can make a difference even on a small scale if you help together,” explained the three prospective A-level students.
Through an appeal to pupils and teachers at their school, they collected toys and then sold them at flea markets. This enabled them to raise a total of €400, which they handed over to us on 12.12.2024 and which will now go to the Manda School in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
