Preventive Healthcare for Golden Heaven and the Surrounding Community
On August 20, 2026, our partner organization, PRADO Welfare Foundation, organized a health check-up at Golden Heaven in Bankra, Howrah. The service was available to both Golden Heaven residents and people from the surrounding community. A total of 65 people took part.
On the same day, an eye check-up was also held for ten people. This service was also available to both Golden Heaven residents and people from the surrounding community.
Especially for people who face financial or organizational barriers to accessing medical care, easily accessible healthcare services like these are particularly important. They help identify illnesses and health problems at an early stage and, where necessary, allow further treatment to be recommended.
Medical care is an important part of Golden Heaven. Residents not only have a safe place to live and receive three meals a day, but also benefit from ongoing healthcare support. These health services are available not only to Golden Heaven residents but also to many people from the surrounding community.
A New Resident at Golden Heaven
In addition to the medical check-ups, we received more good news from the project: Golden Heaven was able to welcome a new resident.
For people with physical or intellectual disabilities whose families are unable to provide or afford the necessary care, Golden Heaven offers the opportunity to find a new home. People experiencing homelessness can also be welcomed, provided that sufficient capacity is available.
Before admission, each person’s individual circumstances are carefully assessed to ensure that Golden Heaven is the right place for them.

Golden Heaven: Support That Extends Beyond the Project
Golden Heaven was established in 2023. The project, run by our partner organization PRADO Welfare Society Santragachhi, provides a permanent home for adults with physical or intellectual disabilities.
The recent health check-ups also show that the impact of the project extends beyond Golden Heaven itself. By making healthcare services available to people from the surrounding community, essential medical care becomes accessible directly on site.
The health check-ups and the welcoming of a new resident highlight two sides of the same work: providing individual support while strengthening the local community at the same time.
Because Golden Heaven is more than just a roof over one’s head. It is a place where people find safety, care, medical support, and a sense of community.
