Can it be that a completely unprepared actor, without a play and a rehearsed text and without a rehearsal, stands on stage, entertains a sold-out theater for two hours and the audience is convinced until the end that everything is going according to plan?
Could it be that the same cabaret evening will then be repeated for over ten years under the title “Regeneration Evening” and the audience will occasionally say: “That’s the best thing you’ve ever done Mr. Düringer!”?
Is it possible that thirty years later the actor still remembers the unwritten text from back then and brings the stories of Christmas Eve in Favoriten, motorcycle races in the Vienna Woods, the jeep dancing on black ice and the first boring hours at the Burgtheater back to life?
Could it also be that there are new stories to tell from Düringer’s life story?
